Kabul
Suburbs 1988-
People once led a relatively normal life here. But the war had
torn into the complex and delicate fabric of Afghan society and
it was difficult to see how it could be restored. It is one of
the many layers of disagreement between warring parties. The
decision to either follow the path of modernity or stay in the
dreamlike bliss of the old ways has tormented Afghanistan for
decades. Most political leadership seemed incapable of making
choices that were or are not extreme. In such situations, violence
is inevitable. |
